Political Advocacy

The annual Copper River salmon runs are 100% allocated. Each user group (commercial, subsistence, Personal Use, Sport) has its own allocation allotment, which is set by the Alaska Board of Fisheries (BOF). CDA strives to see that the Personal Use allocation remains at a level enough to satisfy the needs of dipnet fishery users. This requires CDA representatives attend all BOF meetings concerning Copper River salmon in defense of Chitina personal use dipnetters.
